The opportunity they are currently strengthening their Wellington based sales team and are looking to appoint an experienced Business Development Manager, to represent this leading brand.
This role is focused on new business acquisition, so we seek candidates who are confident in identifying and securing new opportunities. We need someone who is both sales and technically oriented, adept at navigating between these skill areas with ease, and dedicated to meeting personal sales targets, business goals, and client requirements.
To be successful in this role you must be confident and motivated to identify potential prospects, open doors, talk to decision makers and create opportunities. You will thrive on establishing and building strong relationships, which you will then retain, nurture, and grow.
The role prospect and win new business opportunities. Proactively target and develop sales with new customers from building companies, multi-unit developers, and group housing companies and architects.
Manage and deliver on sales activities such as cold calling, introduction meetings, qualification and presentations. Manage your sales pipeline, with regular contact, to nurture prospects into new customers.
Understand customers specific needs and offer solutions to meet these. Identify customer growth opportunities and pitch to win upcoming projects. Continually strive to close sales and increase market. This is a client facing role. You will be out talking to new and existing customers. No desk jockeys please.
About you business Development is your background. You are confident in prospecting and new business activities. 5+ years sales / new business experience. Preference for those who have sold a comparable technical solution. (Possibly HVAC, security systems, or other building-related technology industries).
Previous experience selling into building companies, multiunit developers, group housing companies would be advantageous. However, if you are a super confident BDM, who backs themselves and you don’t tick the above bullet points, then you should still apply.
Your engaging personality enables you to open doors and build business relationships. Your sales activity is proactive. You prefer to be out visiting customers than sitting behind a desk. You proactively plan and manage an effective sales strategy and pipeline.
And enjoy getting amongst it and networking with key influencers. It is not a chore. Gaining industry knowledge is important to you so you can offer the right solutions to your customers. You are Self-Motivated and Accountable. You don’t need your hand held, or to be managed. You are hungry to achieve and meet your targets.
