About us from the former creative director of Icebreaker clothing, Rob Achten, and founder and former CEO of Icebreaker Jeremy Moon comes their new start-up, Animals Like Us, a premium pet food brand, made here in New Zealand. Our purpose is to nurture beautiful relationships between animals, and their people. We believe our pets make us better people, and like us, they deserve the same great nutrition that we enjoy.

We are harnessing what we have learnt to build an exciting new premium brand that will become famous first in New Zealand, then internationally, based on contemporary best practice. We launched 18 months ago, and we are off to a great start.  As a result of our success, we are growing and looking for an outgoing, energetic Brand Ambassador with excellent interpersonal and communication skills who thrives in a training and sales environment.

About the role you will be interacting with staff at our key pet specialty stores such as Animates, running mini training sessions with staff, and representing our brand in stores as part of a regular call cycle, assisting the store with anything they need. This role may suit a student as we offer flexibility with the hours you work, scheduling the call cycles, and training to fit the stores and you. We anticipate this role is approx. 10-15 hours per week, with the potential to be full-time as our business develops. Predominately working in the Auckland market across 24 local stores, with the occasional out-of-town day trip around NZ.  You are renowned for being personality plus, able to talk with anyone, and instantly connect with an engaging and approachable nature.

This will be done by delivering both organised and ad-hoc staff training to pet specialty store members to ensure they can do a great job selling our brand to their customers. Representing the brand in-stores as part of a regular call cycle, ensuring there are no issues with the product in-store, and assisting the store however they need. Being willing to invest time to develop a deep understanding of our product and our brand to be a subject matter expert able to teach the pet specialty staff in-store. Creating and fostering long-lasting mutually beneficial relationships with our retail partners.

What you bring ideally, previous training experience is highly regarded. Passion for animals and a commitment to the health and wellbeing of pets. Confident with public speaking to small groups and ideally previous presentation experience. Self-starter, with strong time management skills and the ability to work independently. Warm friendly authentic and outgoing personality. Excellent communicator, ability to communicate to all levels with ease, and ability to network effectively to leverage relationships. Strong customer service orientation.
