Job description Food Design Solutions has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Bookkeeper or Assistant Accountant. This role is the ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working autonomously, has a knack for numbers, enjoys a varied role and is keen to be involved in all aspects of account keeping for numerous businesses.

Working at our quiet and picturesque office on the Glebe waterfront, this position will work with and report directly to Company Directors/Owners. As a Bookkeeper or Assistant Accountant, you will be involved with the full scope of day-to-day account keeping and payroll for our associated businesses.

Some of the responsibilities will include payroll and Super processing, STP, PAYG and internal reporting. Daily bank reconciliations. Full accounts payable function inc. processing weekly and monthly EFT/Cheque runs. Processing month end transactions and financial reconciliations & reporting.

Reconciliation, reporting and lodgement of BAS & PAYG. Maintaining accounting, time and attendance and Microsoft systems – Xero, Lessn, Deputy, Excel, Word etc. Liaising and communicating with a broad range of contacts – including suppliers, fellow employees, external accounts, business owners and more. Ad hoc administration and general office management duties.

To be successful in this role you will have great communication skills, attention to detail and be comfortable working autonomously. Previous experience in a Bookkeeper or Assistant Accountant position is required but we are willing to provide support and training in all areas that are specific to this role.

Experience in hospitality Industry will be an advantage but is not essential. Candidates need to have experience in Microsoft based programs (Outlook, Excel, Word). Previous experience in accounting, payroll and time/attendance packages will be highly regarded, however we are willing to train the successful candidate in the company’s chosen software (Xero & Deputy).

All Candidates must possess a strong understanding of the English Language and must be able to communicate easily, with a broad range of internal and external contacts. This position is a full time, Monday to Friday role, working in our quiet Glebe office.
