Ranked the #1 University in WA for Nursing (Good Universities Guide 2025) and maintaining a 5-star rating for undergraduate teaching quality for 18 consecutive years, we are proud to graduate the most registered nurses in Western Australia, while also delivering a growing and highly regarded midwifery program.

Our purpose is to improve the health and wellbeing of communities through inclusive, socially accountable education and research. Guided by humanitarian principles of social justice, equity, and inclusion, we are committed to preparing the next generation of nursing and midwifery professionals to lead in a rapidly changing healthcare environment.

Our research agenda is structured across four strategic themes:

Acute and Chronic Disease Prevention, Management and Survivorship in Children, Young People and Adults
Centre for Research in Aged Care
Safe, Quality Midwifery Care

These research pillars reflect our commitment to real-world outcomes and improving care across the lifespan. We work in close collaboration with major healthcare providers across WA, nationally, and internationally.

We are now seeking a dedicated, strategic, and future-focused midwifery academic to join our leadership team in the role of Associate Dean, Midwifery. This senior appointment provides a significant opportunity to shape the growth, direction, and visibility of midwifery education and practice within one of Australia’s leading Schools of Nursing and Midwifery.

Mentor and support academic staff across teaching, research, and service;
Represent the School in key internal and external forums to elevate the profile and contribution of midwifery in healthcare and higher education; and
Contribute to the School’s senior leadership team and overall strategic planning.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a senior midwifery academic who is ready to shape the future of midwifery in a School that values integrity, innovation, and community impact. Based at our Joondalup campus in Perth, Western Australia, you will join a collaborative and passionate leadership team committed to educational excellence and transformative healthcare outcomes.
