Assistant Support Worker Department of Communities and Justice location Sydney. $33.43.
About us Corrective Services NSW (CSNSW) delivers professional correctional services and programs to reduce the risk of re-offending and enhance public safety. It serves a key function of the NSW Justice sector by providing effective, safe and humane management of offenders both in custody and in the community CSNSW also works in partnership with other government and community agencies to ensure that offenders and their families are supported.
About the role provide support and assistance to the residents of a Community Offender Support Program (COSP) Centre and facilitate effective and efficient implementation of the aims and objectives of the centre. Supervise and monitor residents to ensure compliance with formal rules and assist residents to develop the living skills required for community living.
Implement individual Case Plans and maintain offender records. Mentor and assist offenders to develop the living skills required for independent living in the community. Transport offenders to and from external venues. Resolve critical situations relating to security, health and wellbeing of offenders.
Essential requirements current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain one within the first three months of employment (Appropriate training will be provided by CSNSW, if necessary). Current driver's licence and preparedness to drive a vehicle in the course of performing the role.
