Role overview reporting to the Senior Commercial Analyst, this Assistant Commercial Analyst will partner with their manager in supporting the business leadership team with driving profitability. On a day to day basis this Assistant Commercial Analyst will work closely with the business in preparing annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, long term strategic plans and assist with ad-hoc reporting requests.

The role will expand to commercial business analysis where you will be carry out financial analysis to support and propose cost reduction plans. It will be your role as the Assistant Commercial Analyst to build business partnering relationships with various stakeholders within your division as this will assist you in gathering the right data for your analysis as well as giving you the best platform to properly influence the business strategy based on you review.

Because of this, the successful Junior Commercial Analyst that will accept this role will have to have exceptional rapport building skills and display the ability to internally influence management decision making with their analytical capabilities. This is a brilliant opportunity for a motivated and ambitious Accountant who is hungry to move into an Analytical and Business Partnering role.

Responsibilities gather large sets of excel based data and load into a system, to be ready for modeling. Seek out opportunities for automation in data gathering. Update weekly revenue models and assist with the preparation of regional forecasting. Carry out ad-hoc excel based modelling including investigating and explaining anomalies in margins. Assist with the production of budgets and strategic plans.

Help with budgets and strategic plans. Identify and highlight trends in data and results across multiple regions. Month end support - help out with journals, job related accruals and other month end related tasks.

Candidate profile you are CA/CPA or on track towards completion and have solid foundations within core accounting. This could be demonstrated through either experience within financial or management accounting related work. You are confident in your communication and analytical skills and are now looking for an opportunity where you can develop your decision support and business partnering skills.

You have outstanding excel capability and enjoy working in the detail. Any experience with data extraction and or data analysis / modelling will be highly regarded. You have excellent written and verbal communication skills and are savvy with systems.
