Assistant Accountant or Fund Accountant Intuitive Recruitment Pty Ltd location Sydney. Salary $60 - 70,000 plus bonus & benefits package.

The company our client is global financial services group and provider of investor services to global institutions and leading property companies. As a result of strong business performance, they have created an opportunity for a junior accountant to join the business, with a view to developing into a senior role in the long term.

The role will have responsibility for Fund Accounting including any NAV and unit pricing or an interest in asset management operations. Responsibilities daily fund accounting, resolution of discrepancies with transfer agent's and custodian's records, etc. Calculation of Net Asset Value, including monthly reconciliations. Handle trade processing and settlements, monitoring of corporate actions, liaising with service providers, maintaining information systems including portfolio accounting.

Preparation of billing, regulatory and quarterly reporting, annual financial statements, and other ad-hoc reports to the authorities, directors, clients and fund manager, in an accurate and timely manner and support senior management to ensure smooth day to day operations, which include matters relating to human resource, client servicing, compliance and more. Experience & qualifications hold a bachelor’s degree majoring in accounting Either be a graduate or have up to 2 years’ experience in an Accounting role. An interest in becoming a Chartered Accountant or a CPA.

Experience in fund accounting within the asset management is preferred but not necessary, candidates with financial operations experience in non-related industries and fresh graduates also applicable. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Attention to detail, strong analytical and organisational skills. Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Experience working in a team environment. Self-starter attitude with high level of enthusiasm for the financial services sector.
