Assistant Accountant Forethought Research location Melbourne. Forethought is an internationally acclaimed marketing science consultancy that empowers clients to achieve their growth ambitions. The role working as part of a small team, you will complete a range of accounting tasks with a strong focus on exceptional internal customer service. Your ability to build strong relationships with a range of stakeholders is critical to the success of this role. Highly organised and capable of managing your priorities with minimal direction, you will manage efficient and robust reconciliation processes. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will initially be responsible for accounts payable functions, including but not limited to, invoice and credit card processing and reconciliation, administration and management of the firm’s travel accounts, expense claim approval, petty cash reconciliation and journal, monthly reconciliations, other finance administration including inbox management and ad-hoc projects as required. Once proficient in these core tasks, there will be an opportunity to assist with project accounting administration for various project related expenditure, incentives and client invoicing, management accounting tasks, including but not limited to month end reporting, internal reporting as required, and preparation of bas statements, annual budget planning process, preparation of year-end balance sheet and income statement schedules, participation in year-end account review process. To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate tertiary qualifications in business, commerce, accounting, finance or a related discipline and ideally be working towards your cpa certification, early career accounting experience in a professional services environment, sound accounting knowledge and numerical aptitude, strong written and verbal communication skills, well presented with a professional attitude, exceptional business acumen and a customer service ethos, an ability to build rapport, confidence and relationships with stakeholders, a proven ability to work to deadlines, manage shifting priorities and solve problems effectively in a fast-paced environment, strong microsoft office skills, specifically, intermediate experience with excel and outlook, experience in computerised accounting systems or erp - experience working with netsuite is advantageous.
