Assistant Accountant Gough recruitment location Sydney.

The company the client is a leading Australian private integrated property group with capabilities in capital transactions, developments, design and construction, leasing, marketing, asset management and property management covering the full spectrum of the property lifecycle.

Their projects portfolio comprises major retail and commercial assets and developments, bringing vital infrastructure and amenities to communities since the 1950s.

The role reporting to the Corporate Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for financial reporting, management reporting, treasury, and taxation. You will be responsible for preparing weekly cashflow forecasts for the group by entity, plus monthly bank reconciliations for all Head Office and smaller group entities. You will work closely with the Corporate Accountant in the preparation of the monthly consolidated pack, plus any other ad-hoc jobs as required.

Duties include responsible for processing accruals and prepayments, plus all journals for the group's small entities. Assistance in the preparation of monthly and annual financial reports. Preparation of all monthly reconciliations including the fixed asset registers for all Head Office and smaller group entities.

Reconciliation of Development & Construction WIP accounts. Assistance with the preparation of statutory financial accounts. Assist the Corporate Accountant in the preparation of the monthly consolidated pack as required, including commentary and preparing the final pack for distribution Treasury.

Assist the Finance Team to monitor all cash and bank balances across the Group. Preparation of quarterly BAS Statements within legislation due dates. Preparation of monthly IAS Statements within legislation due dates Team.

Responsible for ensuring that periodic payroll tax and PAYG payments are made in accordance with due dates. Assisting the Finance Team and the Financial Controller in maintaining accounting policies and procedures. Assisting and participation in various ad-hoc Finance projects as required.

The Ideal candidate the right candidate will have sound experience in financial accounting with demonstrated knowledge of accounting processes and procedures. CPA qualified or working towards. It is preferred they have 2 years plus commercial experience in a similar role.

The candidate does not necessarily need a property background as this role is working in the corporate team, furthermore there will be lots of support and an excellent handover given, as the current employee isn’t leaving until August. The client will also consider someone who only has experience with AP that wants to grow and learn. Prior experience with Microsoft Dynamics is desired.

They will also have demonstrated ability to integrate information from a range of sources, assessing risks and benefits before acting, by selecting the most logical course of action.
