Assistant Accountant at Sydney Zoo Located in the heart of Western Sydney, Sydney Zoo strives to showcase a broad range of native and exotic animals using technology and advanced exhibit design, with a strong focus on animal welfare, conservation, and educating our visitors about animals and their habitats. Environmental and social awareness play a vital role in our message that highlights the indigenous culture and human influence on the environment.
The position this is an outstanding opportunity to be part of an exciting team at Sydney Zoo in the role of Assistant Accountant, utilising your skills in an area that you are genuinely passionate about. This role will commence as soon as possible.
The Assistant Accountant role will be responsible for assisting with managing the accounts payable business cycles & fixed assets, while improving processes to ensure accounts are accurate and completed.
Skills, Knowledge, and Relevant experience high proficiency in Microsoft programs such as Excel, Outlook, and Power BI. Previous experience in a hospitality/service-based industry or equivalent industry. Availability to work in a small team with the pressures of monthly reporting commitments and deadlines.
Strong lateral thinking and analysis skills. Ability to communicate well, both verbally and written. Knowledge of and commitment to Workplace Health and Safety, and Equal Employment Opportunity. Self sufficient in small team environment.
