About the role join our motivated and dynamic Finance team at St John NSW to support our financial operations. The Assistant Accountant plays a key role supporting the Senior Accountant and wider Finance Team with the preparation of accounts, budgets, processing invoices, supporting payroll and managing the fixed asset register. This role requires financial acumen and proficiency in general accounting processes and some payroll experience.

Key responsibilities assist in managing accounts payable by verifying and processing invoices, making payments and reconciling vendor accounts. Support accounts receivables activities by preparing and sending invoices, tracking payments and following up on overdue accounts.

Support the payroll officer to accurately calculate and process employee salaries, wages. Maintain financial records, general ledgers and payroll records in an organized and systematic manner.

Reconcile payroll and financial accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies. Analyse payroll and financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement. Generate financial reports, conduct variance analysis, and present findings to management. Assist in budgeting and financial forecasting activities.

Our Ideal Candidate will have minimum 3 years generalist accounting experience. Advanced Accounting Diploma from TAFE or equivalent and or. Bachelors in Accounting/Commerce. Previous knowledge of SAP, MS Dynamics or similar software would be desirable.

MS Office Suite experience, with advanced level Excel skills. Displays high energy levels, self-motivation and exceptional time management. Is an adept team player with excellent interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with diverse corporate and individual stakeholders.
