Assistant Accountant Australian Personnel Solutions location Melbourne.

APS Group have partnered with this Australian owned and operated Caravan manufacturing company to assist them in finding a Assistant Accountant for their site. This company has been in operation in the Australian market for well over 5 years and are known for the quality caravans and exceptional customer service. Reporting to the GM of Finance & Accounting.

Responsibilities collecting and recording of data for preparation of timely and accurate weekly/ monthly results/reports. Month end Accounting including Accruals & Prepayments register. Preparation of journals and general ledger reconciliations. Supplier Reconciliations. Preparation of month end reports including analysis of operating costs & other Management accounting reports.

Analyse standard to actual cost variances. Identify challenges and opportunities and recommend corrective actions as indicated by performance to meet cost performance targets. Serve as a business partner to the various functional Managers providing support on all matters relating to financial processes & performance. Follow up of and liaison with Senior Management queries on sit.

Inventory control including reconciliations, work with warehousing staff & management on internal controls. Assistance with annual Audit. Coding and review of all Accounts Payable invoices & processors. Asset register maintenance. Ad hoc assignments.

To be Successful in this position you will need Qualified CPA preferred or working towards. Experience in Manufacturing or automotive industry preferred. Advanced skills in Excel. GST compliance knowledge. MYOB GL & Payroll experience preferred. High attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, Team player. Must possess strong working knowledge of accounting principles

Identifies basic cause & effect relationships with strong analytical skills. Ability to prioritise and multi-skill. Excellent attention to detail. Able to work in a fast paced environment and meet deadlines. Self-starter with demonstrated ability to work autonomously and within a team environment.
