About the role
As the Asset Management Interface, you’ll be the key conduit between V/Line’s Project Delivery teams and the Asset Management group. Your role ensures asset requirements are embedded early and carried through design, delivery, and commissioning. You’ll help shape sustainable, maintainable infrastructure that supports safe and efficient rail operations across Victoria.
Key accountabilities include:
· Engage stakeholders to define and communicate asset management requirements.
· Monitor compliance and resolve integration gaps throughout project execution.
· Support development of maintenance strategies and operational readiness.
· Review and coordinate asset data accuracy and structure with Master Data Specialists.
· Collaborate with Finance to align OPEX funding models.
· Participate in Safety in Design workshops and stakeholder sessions.
· Review documentation and provide informed commentary on risks and impacts.
· Facilitate benefit realisation and readiness at project handover.
· Identify and improve processes, training gaps, and integration procedures.
About you
You’re a confident communicator and natural problem solver who thrives in complex environments. You build relationships quickly, manage competing priorities with ease, and bring a proactive, can-do attitude to every challenge. You understand the importance of getting things right the first time - because in rail, precision matters!
Our ideal candidate will possess the following:
· A proven track record of 5+ years in asset or project management.
· Deep understanding of asset lifecycle and maintenance obligations.
· Experience with TeamBinder or similar document control systems.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Rail experience preferred; infrastructure lifecycle knowledge essential.
· Ability to manage stakeholder expectations and competing demands.
· High attention to detail and time management.
· Engineering or project management qualifications highly regarded.
· Resilient, curious, and committed to continuous improvement.
· Demonstrated alignment with V/Line’s values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership and human rights.
Highly regarded
· Engineering tertiary qualification or equivalent Project Management Diploma and Asset Management
· Previous experience in a similar role
· Level 1 Track Safety Awareness or willingness to obtain.

The total remuneration package for this role is approximately $130,000 (inclusive of superannuation), with flexibility depending on the skills and experience of the successful candidate.
