ARTEXPRESS Support Officer temporary Full-Time (Until April 2024 with the possibility of extension). Location: Lewisham. Competitive salary $67,975 - $73,901.

School Support and Specialist Programs The Student Support and Specialist Programs Directorate is responsible for the development, delivery and evaluation of state-wide services and specialist programs to support student engagement and opportunities including Arts, Sport, Community Languages and International programs.

The Assisted School Travel Program provides transportation services for students with additional needs from home to school and back to ensure all students are able to access education in NSW public schools. Student opportunities across all areas are enhanced through partnerships with industry specialists and stakeholders.

About the role The ARTEXPRESS Support Officer provides clerical services and administrative assistance for the delivery of the ARTEXPRESS program to students, teachers, and galleries around NSW. This role is accountable for performing duties required by the program, including the processing of fees, preparing invoices and payments through the department’s SAP finance systems, communicating and liaising with stakeholders, and assisting with gallery and curatorial duties.

Skills and experience knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people. Ability to provide clerical, administrative and digital support to the ARTEXPRESS program using word processing, database, design and spreadsheet programs.

Demonstrate skills required to support the ARTEXPRESS Project Officer in relation to data collection, gallery communication and evaluation. Experience in performing finance duties required by the program, including the processing of fees, preparing invoices and payments through the department’s SAP system. The ability to assist the ARTEXPRESS Project Officer with the management of exhibitions in multiple venues across NSW, including ARTEXPRESS Virtual. Communicate with stakeholders and provide logistical assistance with delivery of artworks.

Essential requirements of the role demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education. Have a valid clearance to work with children (Working with Children Check) Have a current driver’s licence and a willingness to engage in travel. Be able to perform duties outside the normal core hours and on weekends as required.
