About the role the purpose of Te Tari Pureke - Firearms Safety Authority (a business unit of Police) is to enable New Zealand to be a world leader in arms safety through an effective regulatory and administrative approach to the Arms Act and Arms Regulations

It is an exciting time to be joining this organisation which is transforming in line with the new arms legislation and regulations. We are looking for strong operational leaders to support our team in districts. You will be leading a team in the district who are focused on meeting all our service elements. You will be focused on driving the KPIs across these service portfolios. Focusing on building a regulator culture within our teams.

Key accountabilities drive KPI's, improving and exceeding against targets. Focusing on process improvements. Ensure a consistent approach to resolving complex problems. Ensuring scheduling and flow of work is being effectively managed considering the geography. Supporting high performing teams. Proactively identifying and managing risks. A key liaison with external stakeholders.

Proven ability to lead the achievement of KPIs ideally in a regulatory environment. Desirable tertiary qualification in operation/ business management, regulatory management or similar experience. Demonstrated ability to transform a culture. Ability to improve processes- ideally six sigma qualified. Ability to build high performing teams. This role is set at Team Leader/Manager level, this means your key purpose is "to lead the activities for Our Business and enable people to deliver them."
