We are looking for an Area Manager to join us and drive retail excellence.

Key responsibilities daily and hourly individual targets to be achieved in line with Company standards. Personal productivity to meet minimum requirement as outlined by the Company. Weekly sales budgets for all stores are consistently measured against target, parity and previous year.

Monthly management meetings are conducted to review store performance and Key Imperatives for the store over stocks and slow-moving lines are identified early to ensure optimisation of gross profit. Stock consolidations to be carried out at least once a week. Local promotional opportunities are investigated to promote sales within the stores.

Active steps are taken to maintain and improve staff performance and morale. Individual’s performance is reviewed on a regular basis with appropriate remedial actions implemented if required. Performance reviews of all Store Managers are undertaken personally. Reasons for turnover are investigated and remedial actions implemented.

Decisions on all dismissals are referred to the People & Culture Department for advice to ensure the correct process has been followed. The appointment of all team members is the responsibility of the Area Manager, in conjunction with the Store Manager. Induction plans for all new team members are reviewed to ensure compliance.

Advertising for external applicants is to be discussed with People & Culture when any vacancies identified. Regular team training to be held to ensure all staff are aware of policies, procedures, etc. Succession planning to cover all Store and Assistant management positions within Territory. All high potentials within the Territory are given the appropriate development for career progression.

Staff promoted or transferred within the Territory or Region is done so with appropriate notice and paperwork, including progress plan for new store. Train all staff in the company sales process with a focus on "Australian Made" for Cue. Promote a 'Customer First' attitude among staff and monitor customer complaints weekly.

Conduct 'Internal Audit Checklist' at the start of every store visit and perform quarterly stocktakes. Control markdowns within company objectives and carry out stock consolidations. Monitor wage expenditure in all stores and control store and area expenses within established guidelines.

The Ideal Candidate 1-2 years of previous experience as an Area Manager in a retail environment. Ability to work within a team to achieve store targets. A brand ambassador with a natural ability to build rapport and develop client relationships.
