The First Nations Group drives system reform, policy development, and strategic initiatives that ensure First Nations voices are central to decision-making. Together, our branches facilitate a culturally safe Agency and scheme, driven by First Nations leadership and tailored to the unique needs of First Nations peoples with disability.

Program Officers are responsible for providing administrative and operational assistance to the project and/or policy teams, helping to ensure that activities are well-coordinated and delivered on time. The Program Officer will work closely with other team members to ensure effective communication and collaboration across the group and Agency more broadly.
The Program Officers in the First Nation Group, will need to be able to explicitly demonstrate an understanding and commitment to cultural safety, particularly in addressing the unique challenges faced by First Nations peoples.
Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to providing administrative and operational support for key projects and policy initiatives to improve outcomes for First Nations peoples, ensuring alignment with the First Nations Group’s objectives and broader Agency goals.
Supporting engagement activities, including meetings, consultations, and workshops with First Nations communities and other stakeholders, ensuring cultural safety is maintained for successful project and/or policy development and implementation. Assisting in the preparation and maintenance of project and/or policy documentation, including tracking project timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
