About the role we are looking for an AOD Counsellor for a role within our dedicated Single Point of Entry team who carry out screenings, brief assessments and onward referrals, as well as brief individual and group interventions for people referred for AOD assessment and/or intervention by the Probation Service.

The role is a full time, permanent position. The position requires regular travel to probation offices in Masterton, Upper Hutt and Paraparaumu as well as time working from home or one of our clinics in the Wellington region.

We welcome applications from qualified AOD counsellors as well as those from allied disciplines, such as counselling who have a passion for alcohol and drug treatment and are committed to developing their knowledge and skill base in this important area.

Person requirements qualified and registered professional. Experience in group facilitation or training. At least one-year clinical experience working with clients in AOD and/or Mental Health setting. Understanding of tikanga Māori and culturally safe working practices.

Positive attitude with an ability to work independently and as part of a wider team. Flexibility, reliability and strong professional boundaries. You must have the right to work in New Zealand to apply for this position. You will be required to gain and maintain Ministry of Justice clearances.
