Salary: Stream A, Level 4 from $80k/year plus superannuation, location: Animal Management Centre, Kingston, QLD, 4114. We are currently recruiting 5 full time Animal Management Officers to join the City Safety and Liveability Branch within Logan City Council.

It’s an exciting time to be joining the Team as we mark the completion of our $21 Million redevelopment of the Queens Road facility which includes a new, state of the art Animal Management Centre and animal holding facilities.

You will be joining a diverse team, playing a critical role within the Branch, responsible for investigating animal keeping compliance issues in our city and improving public safety in accordance with Council’s Animal Management Plan 2023.

Position Responsibilities include conduct complex animal-related investigations to determine noncompliance and breaches of legislation. Maintain comprehensive, accurate and timely record keeping.

Take swift and effective enforcement action through a range of actions, contributing to legally enforceable compliance outcomes. Be a presence in the community to address antisocial animal behaviour and ensure compliance with animal keeping requirements.

Key indicators for success exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities. Align with our vision and values for responsible animal keeping. Ability to work a varied roster, which includes weekends and on-call when required. Ability to pass all pre-employment checks as required, including a medical assessment, psychometric testing. Have relevant vaccinations or be willing to obtain vaccinations if successful. Must live no further than 20klms from the Logan region boarder. Current ‘C’ class drivers’ licence.
