About the role AWLQ Animal Attendants play a huge apart in ensuring the welfare of our animals. The role will include but not limited to the following maintaining and cleaning of animal housing. Providing a high standard of animal care. Enrichment programs of all animals. Releasing impound animals to owners. Assisting customers with meet and greets and adoptions. Data entry and computer work. Strong Customer Service. Knowledge and demonstrated ability with quarantine and disease management.
What are the minimum requirements for this position certificate III in Animal studies or Dog Training qualification. Knowledge and demonstrated minimum 2 year experience with animal care in Dogs and Cats in a professional environment is essential. Previous animal industry experience in a similar capacity, with exposure to dogs and cats. National Police Clearance Certificate. Shelter Buddy System ( Highly Desired). Additional qualification in Companion Animals (Highly Desired).
To be successful in this role, you will have excellent Customer Service. Exposure to working with dogs, cats and livestock. Confident dog and cat handling abilities, Local area knowledge, Computer literacy. Be able to work a 7 day roster – which covers weekends and public holidays, with a 5pm finish on some shifts. Hours are expected to average 25 to 34 hours per week.
