Animal Attendant Rothwell Run location Melbourne.

We have an exciting opportunity available at our pet boarding facility 'Cottage Kennels and Cattery' in Plenty, Victoria. We are looking for an experienced, confident, positive, animal loving, mature team member who is ready to join our busy team and drive our business forward using well-developed animal care, administrative, customer service, human resource and operational skills. We envisage the successful applicant to be an active part of our management team.

Position Casual. 20-40 hours per week. Applicant must be available five days per week, including weekends, school holidays and public holidays. We are looking for a team member who has a passion for dogs and cats, are confident, positive and outgoing. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing day to day care for the dogs and cats staying at our facility as well as providing excellent customer service to our clients. The successful applicant would work in both the kennels and the cattery.

The primary responsibilities of this position include helping to lead our team and demonstrating a commitment to developing a high standard of care. Delivering outstanding service and care to all pets and clients. Previous experience in the pet industry (minimum 2 years). Great communication skills. Exceptional organisation and planning skills. A desire to develop your team management and leadership skills. The ability to provide coaching and to build a positive culture in our team.

Excellent administration skills and the ability to maximise operational efficiency. Experience working with computer software programs (exposure to cloud-based software is favourable). We are searching for a natural "people-person" and enthusiastic self-starter. A passion for problem-solving and attention to detail. The ability to think practically and on your feet (this role requires common-sense, effective prioritisation and a can-do attitude).

Adhere to policies and procedures. Provide a high standard of animal care. Strong customer service. Undertake enrichment programs for all pets. Handling of dogs and cats. Feeding and medicating dogs and cats. Cleaning enclosures. Bathing and drying dogs. Exercising dogs. Monitoring and reporting animal health concerns. Assisting veterinarians as required. Upkeep of the facilities. Contribute to a positive team environment.

Great animal handling skills. Initiative and ability to prioritise. Exceptional organisational skills. Ability to work on your own and as part of a team. Experience working in the animal industry is preferable but not essential.
