About the role

The Allied Health Assistant works with medical, nursing and other allied health specialties to ensure a high-quality multidisciplinary approach to patient care. The Allied Health Assistant’s primary purpose is to provide assistance and support to Nurses, Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists in the provision of effective and efficient services as part of the multidisciplinary team.

This position is part of a hospital Allied Health Team that is in collaboration with inpatient and outpatient services as well as contracted Allied health teams. This role is expected to assist in supporting a 7-day week Rehabilitation Service.

Your main duties will include:
Provide quality Allied Health assessments and interventions through client focused care in line with evidence-based practice.
Monitor and evaluate progress and outcomes of plans and initiate appropriate referrals.
Maintain clinical notes as per clinical documentation standards and policies.
Attend and contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings.
Liaise with multidisciplinary team members ensuring a collaborative approach to care.
About you
Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistant
Clinical experience in collaborative team environment
Demonstrated ability to work in a self-directed manner Initiative and organisational skills
Demonstrated high standard of clinical and professional practice
Able to demonstrate effective communication both verbal and written
A commitment to high professional standards and ongoing professional development
Current COVID-19 Vaccinations and other relevant immunisations
