About us at Manatū Hauora - Ministry of Health we are the kaitiaki of the health system, providing leadership and driving strategy and performance. We regulate the health sector and are the primary source of advice on health matters.
The OIA Services Team is responsible for receiving, allocating, tracking, and completing OIAs across the Ministry as well as contributing the OIA training and guidance across the Ministry. The team are experts in the OIA Act and work hard to support the transparency of and integrity in Ministry decision-making.
What you'll do as an Advisor, you will be a member of one Government Services team but may be required to work across the four teams: OIA Services, Ministerial Correspondence, Parliamentary Advice and Coordination, and OIA Advisory and Complaints.
We are looking for an Advisor to join the OIA Services Team. In this role you will be supporting the delivery of the Government and Ministry objectives by providing technical expertise and advice. You will manage a caseload of OIAs as well as contributing to key pieces of work across the Ministry and collaborate with stakeholders both internal and externally.
What you'll bring proven organisational skills with the ability to think ahead, use initiative, establish priorities, and meet deadlines whilst preserving high levels of accuracy. Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to tailor complex messages to a range of audiences.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to foster good stakeholder relationships. Ability to influence and work with staff of all levels. Knowledge of the machinery of government, risk management, managing at the political interface.
