NECA Electrical Apprenticeships is a not-for-profit group training company that employs over 750 apprentices in NSW, QLD and the ACT. NECA EA is owned by the National and Electrical Communications Association (NECA), providing apprentices with the full range of work available in the electrical industry. This ensures that the apprentices receive the broad experience needed to complete their trade and pursue careers that align with their areas of interest.

About the role the Administrator supports the Operations Manager with the administration of apprentices, recruitment, induction, placement, tracking and mentoring, procurement and WH&S.

What we're looking for joining our operations team based in the head office in Chullora, this role would be perfect for a highly organised person looking for stability within an administrative role. In an environment where no two days are the same, the ideal candidate will be proactive and have an interest in administration, recruitment, return to work coordination, event planning and other office based duties. The ideal candidate will have exceptional time management and organisational skills, will be focused and must have the ability to work autonomously.

Duties and responsibilities recruitment (including coordination of pre-entry exams, interviews, pre-employment medicals, letters of offer, inductions, placements and host employer liaison). Assist the Operations Manager with procurement (including ordering of uniforms, tool boxes and PPE). Assist and support the Operations Manager and Field Officers in apprentice disciplinary and review meetings.

Maintain communication with host employers regarding apprentice placements, completions, requirements and events. Prepare reports as required. Plan and coordinate the annual Apprentice Awards Evening and be present on the evening to ensure event runs smooth.Assist the Operations Manager with nominations for all other Industry Awards. Workers Compensation and Return to Work Coordination. Maintain communication with apprentices as required. Other administrative functions as required by the Operations Manager.

Criteria ability to manage time to ensure deadlines are met. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. The ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team. Proficiency in all Microsoft suite applications – Outlook, Word and Excel. To be organised and a great team player. Great attention to detail. Minimum of 2 years experience in an admin role.
