Refugee mental health and wellbeing this is your opportunity to be part of supporting refugees as they arrive and settle in New Zealand. Refugees as Survivors New Zealand is seeking an Administrator who is passionate about working with people from a former refugee background.

Our service refugees as Survivors New Zealand (RASNZ) provides specialist mental health, assessment, treatment, and referral services for all incoming Quota Refugees. RASNZ functions as a national resource for those involved with refugees, asylum seekers and victims of torture and severe trauma. We also provide specialist mental health and wellbeing services to anybody from a former refugee background who has settled in Auckland.

The Administrator is a member of a multi-disciplinary team comprising Psychologists, Psychotherapists, Psychiatrists, Counsellors, Body Therapists, Social Workers, and Community Health Workers. She/He/They is responsible to provide administrative support to the RASNZ Clinical Services at Mangere Refugee Resettlement Centre (MRRC) – 251 Massey Road, Mangere East, Auckland.

The successful appointee will be self-motivated, proactive, and present yourself at the highest standard. Your organisational and people relationship skills will be exceptional as you work cross-culturally in your role. An ability to speak a second language, in line with the languages spoken by the client populations, would be advantageous.

To be considered for this role, you must have experience working as an administrative officer in the past. A background in working with culturally and linguistically diverse clients. Capacity to form collaborative relationships with professional colleagues, carers, relatives, and clients. Experience organising programmes in the community. Can do and willingness to learn attitude. A reasonable knowledge in IT and computer systems.

Responsibilities and duties run the front office on day-to-day basis. Answering phones and emails and directing enquires to the correct location. Uploading intake information onto database systems. Updating referrals onto database systems and working alongside Clinical Team Leads to ensure timely allocation. Collating appointments for the Clinical Team at MRRC and supporting organisation of groups.

Liaising with Immigration NZ regarding appointment times in the site wide calendar and room bookings. Arranging appointment slips for clients. End of intake duties – filing intake information, arranging for reports and letters to be generated. Working with clinicians to ensure intake information completed in a timely manner. Producing reports as required by the Clinical Team Leads. Ordering stationary. Supporting with administration matters for interpreters as directive of the Interpreter Coordinator. Mangere Health & Safety representative duties.

General attend RASNZ Agency and Clinical Team meetings, as appropriate. Assist with special projects, as required. Undertake ongoing professional development. Support the Clinical Team Leads to evaluate the quality of Clinical Services. Undertake regular internal supervision.
