The QNMU The Queensland Nurses and Midwives’ Union (QNMU) is the industrial and professional organisation for nurses and midwives working in public and private health and aged care in Queensland. The QNMU seeks to promote and defend the industrial, professional, social, political and democratic interests of over 71,000 members. We have over 190 employees including organisers, professionals and administrative personnel, and manage a multi-million-dollar operating budget.

About the role in this role you will have the opportunity to use your exceptional administrative skills and passion for people to make a real difference in the lives of nurses and midwives. You will be an experienced administrative professional providing quality administrative and secretarial support to the Servicing Team.

Key responsibilities of the role will include providing quality administration, customer service and general support to QNMU staff and members. Performing accurate word processing and data entry. Engaging with members via inbound calls and email. Maintaining accurate files through the records management system. Taking minutes of meetings; and contributing to the team planning and professional activities of the team.

To be successful in this role you will possess education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to the completion of Year 12. Intermediate skills in the Microsoft Office Suite. Experience using membership databases and record management systems (preferred). Highly organised and able to prioritise tasks while supporting the administration requirements of multiple staff members.

Demonstrated experience in taking minutes. Commitment to QNMU’s values, purpose and trade unionism in general. A mature, personable and professional customer service approach to work. Well-developed written and verbal communication skills. Proof of full Covid-19 vaccination.
