About the role The Subpoena Management Unit (SMU) is the central management point for all subpoenas served on Victoria Police (VicPol) or its individual employees. The Unit's primary responsibilities are to receive, assess, allocate and monitor subpoenas to ensure compliance. The SMU is authorised by the Chief Commissioner of Police to accept service of any witness summons or subpoena addressed to the Chief Commissioner of Police and/or any VicPol employee.

As a dedicated Unit, the SMU will provide expert advice and guidance to enable compliance through information management and monitoring. As the Public Support Information Officer, you will complete various tasks relating to the administration of subpoenas received by Victoria Police according to established guidelines.

You will be required to work within a small team and contribute in an effective and respectful manner. You will be required to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders and report to the Unit's supervisors and Unit Manager as required. Victoria Police is a contemporary and agile workplace and supports flexible working arrangements.

Your duties will include undertake a range of data entry and information management tasks. Provide basic advice to internal and external customers relating to the administration of subpoenas. Provide high quality customer service to all stakeholders.

As the successful applicant, you will have administrative experience. Well-developed interpersonal, communication and organisational skills. Ability to maintain records and prepare reports.

Requirements and relevant information one (1) x full-time, ongoing position available. The salary range for a VPS2 role is $56,271 to $72,262 (covering salary ranges VPSG 2.1 and VPSG 2.2). Although it is standard practice for selected candidates to commence at the base of the salary range, genuine consideration will be given to a commencement salary within the available range that is commensurate with the successful candidate's knowledge, skills and experiences.

This will be subject to negotiations with the Hiring Manager in the course of the selection process and may include the provision of evidence of a higher income and/or supporting documentation (as required). This position is located at 456 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne.

Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa. The successful applicant will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.

As a member of the Legal Services Department you will be located, on selection, at a specific office within a Division for a particular advertised opportunity. However, given occasional legal service demand issues you may be required at times to undertake varied work within the Department.
