Administrative Officer Deakin University location Melbourne.

The role this position sits within the Faculty of Health Office and is focused on providing general administrative support to the Office of the Faculty of Health team in general and specifically to the Biostatistics Unit that sits within this office. The role is .40 FTE and will be split equally between the Office of the Faculty of Health and the Biostatistics Unit. The position will report to the Deputy Faculty General Manager and will also work closely with the Professor of Biostatistics.

To be successful, you'll have excellent communication skills, including the ability to draft correspondence such as emails, invitations and letters and liaise with a diverse range of stakeholders in a professional manner. Strong time management skills, including the ability to coordinate events and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Excellent stakeholder management skills, including the ability to keep relevant parties informed of task status and progress towards deadlines. Strong data entry and record keeping skills, including the ability to record financial and research activities.

Your key responsibilities will be to coordinate events on behalf of the Faculty of Health office, including invitations, certificates of participation for attendees, venue bookings, use of technology such as Zoom for virtual events and recordings and managing RSVP’s. Recording research grant contributions, ensuring that invoices and journals are submitted for processing where required.

Recording research outcomes of the members of Biostatistics Unit (grants applications and successful grants / papers) to prepare the draft Biostatistics annual report. Recording requests for biostatistical consultations and follow up with the responsible statistician to confirm that the consultation has taken place. Maintaining stationery and other Faculty supplies as required. Monitor the Biostatistics Workshop email account, directing enquiries to the appropriate contacts and ensuring a response has been provided. General administrative tasks as required.
