Job description Full time Ongoing role, Location: Sydney CBD, Clerk Grade 3/4 - Salary $72,635 to $79,535 pa (plus employers contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading).

About us The Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) supports the NSW community by providing access to justice services, through the protection of rights and public safety initiatives. NCAT deals with a broad and diverse range of matters, from tenancy issues and building works, to decisions on guardianship and administrative review of government decisions.

About the role administrative Assistants are responsible for a range of high level administrative and clerical tasks, including undertaking projects and research, which are essential to meeting the operational and service delivery needs of the Tribunal.

These tasks include co-ordinate and update diaries and arrange other commitments, including travel, meetings and catering. Work processing and data entry, drafting correspondence, Tribunal orders and decisions, meeting agenda, minutes. Maintaining records, systems and databases. Answering and screening telephone calls and other enquiries.

Maintaining confidential information about Members and other functions undertaken by the Deputy President/Division Head of the Consumer and Commercial Division of NCAT. Undertaking projects and research as required. Review report, analyse performance data and assist the deputy president/division head managing member performance. Complying with tribunal policies and procedures..

About you we are looking for someone who is motivated, takes initiative and has strong organisation, administrative and clerical skills.

You will be a quick learner and willing to develop your skills and knowledge of legislation, legal principles and procedures. Have strong communication and negotiation skills and enjoy client contact. Have experience working in a high volume environment with set timeframes. Be able to manage your individual workload independently and efficiently. Have experience working with Excel, Microsoft office, Word and other software. Have an ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy. Act with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
