Administration Support Officer Department of Corrections location Auckland.

About the role working closely with the Prison Director's Personal Assistant you will be the first point of contact for our two deputies' ensuring all meeting, phone, email, diary and calendar notifications are responded to on their behalf.

They will be depending on you to attend meetings, take notes and type up minutes, keep them appraised of all you see and hear, prepare and update databases, ensuring all reporting is fully maintained, assist their direct reports with ad hoc administrative duties as required. You will be keen to learn about our business and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where multi-tasking and ambiguity are ‘the norm'.

Skills and experience to succeed in this role, you will have an excellent work ethic including strong time management, prioritisation and organisational skills. a sound working knowledge of MS Word/Excel and Outlook (previous experience with calendar and diary management is essential). fast and accurate keyboarding skills (on some days typing could be 80% of your daily tasks).

Excellent verbal, written and grammatical English language skills. Great people skills i.e. Your ability to interact confidently and professionally with people from a diverse range of cultures and at all levels of our business is paramount. An understanding of our work environment and the safety protocols required (you will not be offender facing but you do need to be situationally aware).

The ability to learn new skills quickly, follow instructions and have the courage to ask relevant questions. Strong attention to detail. Team, solution and compliance focused. The ability to work effectively both autonomously and as part of the team. The salary range for this role is $45,518 - $54,120 and progression is dependent of required competency levels.

The work profile is Monday to Friday, working a 40-hour week, 8am-5pm.  We can be flexible on your start time e.g. you may prefer to work 7am-4pm.  We have free car-parking on-site and the Mt. Eden train station is a 5-minute walk.
