Administration Officer Ministry of Social Development location Manawatu.

We have an opportunity for an administration professional to join our team. It is an important role, delivering high quality, efficient and proactive administrative support to our team.

About the role the role provides support to our Palmerston North site. Flexibility to provide coverage to other sites as required is essential. In this busy and varied role you are responsible for fleet management, maintaining office and stationery supplies, maintaining registers, leave and attendance records, arranging for equipment servicing, building issues and other adhoc duties as required to ensure the smooth running of the office.

You are also responsible for working with Security and Front of House staff to ensure that all Visitors and Contractors to the office are inducted correctly into the office, maintaining health and Safety standards is a big focus.

About you are a team player who works well under pressure. A busy environment is where you thrive and you pride yourself on delivering customer service. No task is too big or too small, you take everything in your stride and get things done.

You have intermediate to Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel. Proven expertise supporting a team in an administrative capacity. Experience maintaining and improving office systems. Exceptional relationship building skills – you enjoy meeting people from varied backgrounds. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills. Full NZ Driver’s Licence and ability to drive Ministry vehicles as required.
