Where you'll be working Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) is responsible for providing primary and secondary health care for people living in the Auburn, Blacktown, and The Hills Shire, Holroyd and Parramatta Local Government Areas (LGAs) and tertiary care to residents of the Greater Western Region. What you'll be doing the Ward Clerk records essential patient data related to patient admission/transfers and discharge transactions, including patient file management. All tasks are essential to accurate billing of patient medical history. Maintains the tidiness of the Ward / Unit reception area.

Maintain supply of stationary under the direction of the Nursing Unit Manager (NUM). Works collaboratively with members of the multidisciplinary health team in the planning and implementation of clerical systems within the unit. Ensures optimal outcomes for patients and clients of the service through the promotion of best practice.

Selection criteria proven extensive clerical experience in an office support role. Demonstrate extensive receptionist/customer service skills. Demonstrated excellent clerical organisational and time management skills. Demonstrated effective communication skills - verbal and written, with strong attention to detail.

Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team situation. Competent computer skills in a Windows based environment and a knowledge of databases. Demonstrated ability to adapt to flexible work practices.
