Administration Officer The University of Sydney location Sydney. $79717 - $89256 p.a.

12 month full-time, fixed term contract. Provide administrational support to the Sydney Analytical Team. Base Salary $79,717 - $89,256 + 17% superannuation.

About the opportunity as an Administration Officer, you will support a broad range of administrative and operational activities for the Sydney Analytical Team so that the university is able to deliver advanced research capabilities and outcomes.

As a first point of contact you will respond to a range of enquiries from a variety of stakeholders, assist with the organization of events, conferences, workshops, and monitor financial transactions such as invoicing and purchasing.

Your key responsibilities will be to work within a dynamic team, reporting to the Sydney Analytical Operations Manager. Provide general administrative services and operational support to the work area. Ensure the appropriate coordination of meetings including agenda and minute preparation, venue booking, catering, and IT facilities.

Provide research administrative support to the Director, and Sydney Analytical professional staff. Undertake payment and invoice management, purchasing, budget reconciliations and financial reports using PeopleSoft Financials, Unibuy and powerBI. Maintain and update website with relevant and up to date content.

About you excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience in handling a wide range of enquiries and providing excellent customer service. Experience in committee servicing including preparation of meeting papers and taking minutes.

Demonstrated numeracy skills together with experience in controlling income/expenditure for reconciliation/budget tracking and managing invoice payments and purchases. Demonstrated proficiency in microsoft office programs such as excel, outlook and teams as well as zoom.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement and ability to prioritise workload during busy periods. Experience and knowledge of university systems such as unibuy and peoplesoft are highly desirable.

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
