Institute for Teaching and Learning Innovation. HEW level 4 ($44.10 to $46.82 per hour). Casual appointment (up to 15 hours per week). Closing date: Wednesday 10 August 2022 at 11.00pm AEST (R-15039).

About This opportunity we are seeking an experienced and organised Casual Administration Assistant to support the effective and efficient operation of the Business Services Unit in the Institute for Teaching and Learning Innovation.

Reporting to the Manager, Business Services, the role involves providing support and backup to members of the team including a wide range of office coordination and administrative support activities, such as processing relevant financials, liaising with internal and external stakeholders, and facilitating the efficient and effective functioning of the office's day to day procedures, operations, logistics and assurance of standards. This is a casual position (approximately 10 to 15 hours per week) with the days and hours to be flexible and will be negotiated with the successful candidate.

Responsibilities working under general supervision, the successful candidate will provide administrative support and office coordination for the Business Services Unit within the Institute for Teaching and Learning Innovation (ITaLI). Duties include ordering stationery; raising requisitions; receipting of goods; records management; catering and hospitality and assisting with travel arrangements.

Assists in facilitating efficient functioning of the office's day to day procedures and operations, in accordance with administrative protocols and standards. Liaises with internal and/or external clients and stakeholders, including answering routine queries and providing advice as relevant to the role. Applies a range of desktop-based programs and/or management information systems. Other duties as reasonably requested by the supervisor. The Institute for Teaching and Learning Innovation (ITaLI) is taking a leading role in teaching and learning, professional education and innovation. ITaLI is an integrated teaching, research and service delivery centre for teaching and learning practices at UQ. ITaLI seeks to establish and maintain a flexible operating structure to drive and support innovation and excellence for these activities.

Under the Leadership of the Director, ITaLI, the Institute provides leadership, engagement and advocacy in educational innovation, teaching excellence and learning analytics, and aims to transform teaching and learning across the University through the delivery of faculty and executive prioritised, teaching and learning projects and services. ITaLI addresses critical areas of unmet need in teaching and learning by bridging the gap between the exponentially expanding discipline of higher education teaching and the increasing complexity of teaching to assist University teaching staff and improve the learning experience of students.

About you the preferred applicant must have effective administration, coordination, and interpersonal communication skills, as well as the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.

Selection criteria cert IV or Diploma with relevant work experience; Cert III with extensive relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated skills in providing a high level of customer service, including effective interpersonal skills.

Demonstrated high level of proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and MS Teams. Effective organisational, time management and problem-solving skills. Working knowledge of university administrative systems, policies and procedures would be considered an advantage.

What We Can offer this is a casual position at HEW level 4 with a salary of $44.10 to $46.82 per hour (including casual loading) plus super of up to 10.5%.
