This team drives collaboration across the Department and beyond to identify and solve key policy challenges for the schooling system. This includes collaboration with students, teachers and school communities, internal and external stakeholders, as well as key experts from across Australia and globally, and ensures that the Department’s response to emerging challenges is informed by strong evidence and deep thinking.

About the role the Administration and Coordination Officer provides confidential executive, administrative and management support to the Director and senior staff in the Schools Policy Unit. The role also involves building positive and collaborative relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. Responsibility for actioning enquiries and promptly resolving issues. Tracking of key issues and correspondence and escalating these as necessary to the Director’s attention or delegating to appropriate Senior Officers.

Essential requirements of the role hold a valid clearance to work with Children (Working with Children Check) or willing to obtain.

Key knowledge and experience knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

About you the successful candidate will demonstrate organisation skills to manage multiple competing priorities and ensure on-time delivery. Integrity and discretion regarding complex and sensitive information. An ability to adapt to changes in a dynamic operating environment.
