This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of te ao Māori, legal work and public policy analysis. This private practice firm works with a wide range of clients in Māori, environmental and public and administrative law. They work for several large clients, alongside top barristers, on cases intended to change New Zealand's laws. Some evening and weekend work will be necessary, but the firm generally offers a flexible hybrid working environment with the option of working two days per week from home and adjusting your start and finish times to suit your lifestyle.
About this role this is an ideal opportunity for an administrator to join and assist in meaningful work. All team members maintain a keen interest in the Treaty of Waitangi, and environmental and social policy issues affecting Māori while developing the strengths of their Māori claimants and claimant groups. You will work with solicitors and clients that are leading the last major historic claim in the Waitangi Tribunal by providing support across a variety of administrative duties. This will include, but is not limited to: file management, supporting Woodward Law's clients directly, assisting in the drafting and preparation of legal documents, supporting the Office Accountant and taking minutes as required. You will be working alongside the Executive Team Leader, building relationships directly with clients.
