Admin Officer Hunter Primary Care Ltd location Newcastle, Maitland & Hunter. $27 per hour.

Operated by Hunter Primary care, headspace Newcastle provides early intervention mental health and overall wellbeing services to 12-25 year olds across the Hunter Region.

About the role reporting to the Practice Coordinator, the Administration Officer will provide reception and administrative assistance that supports the provision of clinical service delivery by headspace Newcastle with a high level of service to customers and administrative support to program staff.

The successful candidate should have a passion for working with young people and demonstrated experience working in an office environment with clinical and administrative staff. It is a dynamic, demanding, yet rewarding role which requires the ability to manage multiple demands in a timely manner. This is an exciting opportunity to support the provision of youth mental health and well-being services in our community. The position is offered on a part-time or casual basis.

Essential criteria relevant Qualifications and/or a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in an office environment with clinical and administrative staff. Experience and a helpful manner in dealing with members of the community. Excellent time management and organisation skills with a keen attention to detail

Proficient in use of Word, Excel, Outlook, Access and Power Point, and demonstrated ability to learn new electronic systems. Able to use initiative to identify areas for improvement and implement changes. Demonstrated experience and flexibility in learning and adapting to new systems. Demonstrated capacity to work autonomously, while being part of a team.

Desirable criteria demonstrated experience in working with Aboriginal communities. An understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal people. An ability to communicate effectively and in a culturally appropriate manner with Aboriginal people. Familiarity with clinical/medical software programs and billing procedures. Experience in working in a setting that works with young people aged 12-25. Experience in working in a mental health setting.

Unless a medical contraindication exists, staff at Hunter Primary Care must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.  Evidence of vaccination status or medical contraindication will be required from the successful candidate.

This position is classified as Business Support Services Level 2 under the Hunter Primary Care Agreement 2021. The current remuneration for this classification is $27 per hour plus entitlements.
