About the role we have 2 opportunities for experienced accounts payable officers to join the Finance Team in the Brisbane headquarters of the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator. The role is responsible for contributing to the effective functioning of the finance team and undertaking processing tasks in relation to accounts payable and other accounting processes.

More specifically, the role undertakes a broad range of tasks, including but not limited to carrying out processing functions including invoice entry via an automated accounts payable system. Supplier set up and maintenance. Assistance with purchase order creation and amendments in accordance with internal procedures and processes.

Prepare weekly payment of suppliers. Provide assistance with undertaking various other finance functions as required. Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and represent the NHVR as required.

Based in our head office in Brisbane, we are searching for an AP officer on a permanent full time basis and one AP officer on a temporary full time basis until Jan 2025. Working with a family friendly team, we offer a supportive, hybrid work environment with flexible work from home arrangements.

About you to be successful for the role, you will have a minimum of three years’ experience in accounts payable, including experience in data entry into financial systems. You will have demonstrated experience in financial processing and associated validation techniques, and in the use of financial management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

You will practice effective time management skills and a high level of attention to detail, while working in a fast-paced role with multiple priorities. You will be able demonstrate initiative and work collaboratively with your team.
