Accounts Officer Local Government Procurement location Sydney.

Working conditions include Full-time (38 hours per week). Hybrid and flexible work environment. Modern office in Sydney CBD, a 3-minute walk to Wynyard station.

About the role this newly created role of Accounts Officer supports LGP and works closely with Local Government NSW to undertake all aspects of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes. In addition, the role will undertake payroll processing functions.

Main duties and responsibilities process and issue AR invoices and credit notes. Process AP supplier invoices and payments. Process employee information into the payroll system. Undertake supplier statement reconciliations. Follow up overdue debtors. Provide a timely and high-level of customer service to clients.

Skills and Experience in an AR or AP role, or general accounting experience. Experience and good knowledge of accounting systems and bookkeeping practices. Minimum Certificate IV in Bookkeeping or Accounting. Effective communication skills, including sound oral and written communication, and interpersonal skills.

Good analytical and organisational skills with strong attention to detail. Proactive and self-directed; the ability to establish work priorities, and work autonomously, with strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent time management skills, with a capacity to meet competing priorities and achieve deadlines. Problem solving and customer service skills. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications, such as Excel, Word and Outlook, at an intermediate level.
