Accountant Excelsia College location Sydney, Ryde and Macquarie Park. Excelsia College is a Christian college with academic and administrative staff from many denominations. Excelsia College has attained Self-accrediting Authority and is on a trajectory to achieve Australian University College status. About the role excelsia college is seeking applications from qualified individuals for the position of accountant. The Accountant role will report to the Director of Finance and Administration. To ensure effective operation of Excelsia College's Finance Department. Primary responsibilities include to provide support to the director of finance and administration in account reporting, planning, analysis and forecasting, and to meet all objectives of that team, to ensure the activities of finance team are operated effectively and efficiently and provide a quality service, regard must be given to short term and long-term objectives, broad policy guidelines as defined and approved by the excelsia college management committee, to ensure accounts receivable function is operating efficiently and effectively. Skills and experience to be successful in this role, applicants must address the selection criteria below committed christian, involved in a local congregation, tertiary qualifications in accounting/finance or equivalent preferred, together with a minimum of 3 years' experience in accounting/finance or relevant field. preferably cpa or working towards cpa would be an advantage, working knowledge of microsoft office suite including access database, knowledge of paradigm, commbiz & myob interface upload processing preferred, previous experience working in higher education sector is an advantage, a natural passion for continuous improvement, quality and a 'can-do attitude', confidentiality and privacy are a necessity, with strong attention to detail and accuracy, clear, open, honest and timely communication, customer centric stakeholder engagement both internal and external, and confidence in presentations, ability to plan, analyse and provide recommendations on data acquired, able to meet conflicting deadlines, work autonomously, as part of a team and use initiative, a commitment to continued professional growth, knowledge of and ability to apply equal opportunity principles and work health and safety principles in the workplace.
