About Us Star Beta Pty Ltd is a proprietary trading firm based in Sydney. The firm trades emerging asset classes with a focus on digital assets. We are looking for an accountant to join our Finance team.
Job description we are currently seeking an accountant with 2-3 years of work experience to join our dynamic team. You will have ownership of a wide range of responsibilities covering day to day accounting tasks, tax compliance, monthly & periodical reporting, analysis and ad-hoc queries.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the accountant will take a central role in the organisation and work with different teams, with significant visibility and regular contact with the most senior levels of management within the organisation.
Core Accountabilities and responsibilities accounts receivable functions and reporting. Manage accounts payable function and authorisations. Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial accounts. Assist in the performance of variance analysis on budget to actual reporting and Projects. Reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
Fixed asset and treasury management. Assist in the refinement of management information systems and integrate / improve reporting frameworks (PowerBi, MySQL). Assist in the improvement of internal controls and procedures. Monitoring of record-keeping and compliance requirements. Assist in the liaison with external auditors where necessary. Provide financial support to internal stakeholders. Job costing analysis. Manage general accounting functions. Assist in maintaining internal audit and controls. Supporting the CFO on ad-hoc projects.
Role requirements bachelor of Commerce/Finance/Business or similar degree. Completion of CA/CPA studies (or working towards this). Experience working in financial or management accounting. Strong analytical and reporting skills. Self-motivated with good relationship management skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines. Well-versed in transferring assets across different banking and online systems. Experience reading and interpreting contracts. PowerBi and SQL knowledge will be an advantage. Advanced Excel skills. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
