Assistant Accountant SpeeDx Pty Ltd location Sydney.

Your new position reporting to the Finance Manager, you will have a broad accounts role focusing predominantly on cashflow forecasting and reporting, month-end tasks, balance sheet reconciliations, financial report analysis, statutory reporting, as well as assisting audits and annual reports.  Additionally, you will be assigned to oversee one of the subsidiary accounts processed by a 3rd party accounting team.

Your primary responsibility will involve Month-end accounts preparation and analysis. Cashflow management including weekly cashflow reporting and forecasting. Overseeing the processing of accounts payable invoices and accounts receivable invoices. Ownership of P&L and Balance sheet. Preparation of monthly consolidated financial reports. Quarterly Royalty invoicing and analysis.

Preparation of tax-related requirements, GST, FBT etc. Capital Expenditure analysis and maintenance of fixed asset records. Coordinating internal and external audit. Assisting with budgeting and forecasting. Assisting with R&D tax rebate and income tax return. Assisting Finance Manager with system implementation projects. Assisting company policies set up and enforcement.

To be successful in this role, you will require skills & experience like excellent communication skills to build rapport with internal and external stakeholders; handle any queries effectively. Over 2 years of experience (minimum) within an Assistant Accountant position with Exceptional accounting and analytical skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.

Problem-solving and analytical skills. ERP system experience and intermediate to advanced excel skill would be preferred. Completion CA/CPA studies are desirable, but may not be essential. Ability to thrive in a busy work environment. Able to work independently and also as part of a team. Friendly nature with a good sense of humour. Flexible approach to work. Self-motivated with a "can do" attitude.
