Database Administrator Investment Trends location Sydney.
Become the lead for data engineering at Investment Trends, owning ETL and future proofing our data platform as we scale. This new role will enjoy daily interaction with our Research Team providing plenty of opportunities to learn and grow together, transforming every touch point on our data insights research life cycle into a connected digital experience.
What you will be doing design, implement and maintain our data platform to automate the execution and management of data - related jobs and pipelines. Work with Snowflake, Postgres, Looker and SQL on a daily basis. Utilise AWS and S3 as we are hosted on AWS. Maintain privacy and confidentiality protocols for handling data from domestic and international sources ensuring active governance of our data.
Collaborate closely with our Research Analysts to further automate data workflow and continually improve our processes. Collaborate with Senior Engineer and our Director - Technology on application events, ensuring right data can be extracted. Develop and modify test programs. Write and maintain documentation of Investment Tends databases. Manage multiple projects and multiple tasks within projects.
What you will bring at least 4 years’ database administration management experience with a variety of skills and knowledge in a company. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technologies, Informatics or related fields. Demonstrated knowledge of relational database software. Skills in database performance tuning and SQL query optimization. Strong communication skills with the ability to develop capability in our research team.
The Technology Director encourages new skill development, so you will expand your Python skills, AI and ML skills and knowledge of statistical computing platforms. As part of a small team, you will have opportunities to identify issues, contribute to technical decisions and implement solutions with our teams in Sydney, London and Manila.
