The opportunity reporting to the CEO, this is a business partnering position supporting company leaders in all financial, data and commercial aspects by capturing, substantiating and analysing operational data for management reporting and developing plans that support organizational strategy.

Key responsibilities deliver accurate forecasts and financial plans. Analyse business process to identify and assess how material risks are mitigated and whether improvements are necessary. Support setting and delivery of realistic but challenging budgets with the full engagement of the business. Propose and implement resolution concerning cash flow and potential investment opportunities.

Influence good management decisions by appropriate analysis and clear communication of implications and options. Limit out-of-governance events. Manage the delivery of timely and accurate monthly management reports. Manage the finance team and provide appropriate development plans and performance feedback.

Oversee the monitoring of systems and accounts feeding into the financial system, ledgers to ensure that all assets, liabilities, income and expenditure are correctly stated and appropriately managed. Provide commercial and financial guidance to support departments / functions including (but not limited to) commercial, procurement, human resources, etc. Oversees external financial consultants where required (eg: tax management). Ensure adherence to all legislative and regulatory requirements. Any other duties as requested by CEO.

Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following previous experience in a Financial Controller capacity. Strong financial reporting, management information and computer-based systems experience. Solid experience in preparation and collation of financial reports and information. Extensive experience in business case development and investment analysis. Strong ability to understand and apply the contract terms and conditions, including documentation processes.

Excellent analytical, communication and presentation skills. Highly developed financial investigative skills with the ability to conduct and participate in reviews, audits and manage action plans. Advanced department budget and financial plans management skills. Ability to follow occupational health, safety and environmental procedures in both office and rail environments.

Essential requirements Degree in accounting and/or commerce essential. Current CPA and/or CA accreditation essential. This is an exciting opportunity to work for the Operator and Maintainer of the first automated passenger railway in Australia.
