Assistant Accountant The Shannon Company location Melbourne. We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our finance team as an assistant accountant.

Duties involved will be as follows supporting financial decision making by proactively and reactively collecting relevant data, analysing, investigating and summarising variances, timely entry of accounts payable and receivable to meet payment date timeframes, primary responsibility for talent and film suppliers financial processing, bank reconciliations daily, process accounts payable and receivable – creditors entry, weekly payment runs, collection of debtors and follow up with concentration on any overdue accounts, collation, entry and payment of talent and film contractor invoices to meet our 7 day payment terms including obtaining information as required, reconciliation and payment of superannuation and PAYG for talent and film contractors, assist with budgeting / forecasting and end of financial year financial statement preparation, reconciliations as required including petty cash, taxi vouchers, ledger cards, assist with weekly and monthly finance meeting reporting.

On the job training will be provided for our internal job management accounting system (JobBag). Skills in MS Word and Excel are a requirement, as is a formal qualification in accounting.
