Hutt St Centre’s vision is an end to homelessness. Our mission is to advocate with and empower people at risk of or experiencing homelessness, supporting them to rebuild their lives on their pathway to homefulness.
You will be joining a team who works hard to do their part in ending homelessness in South Australia.
How you will make a difference
As the Administration Officer – Reception, you will be the first point of contact for visitors, donors and external stakeholders, delivering a professional and welcoming experience. You will manage front desk operations, answer and direct phone enquiries, and undertake general administrative tasks.
Working under the direction of the Team Leader Sustainability, you will collaborate with the broader Administration Team to provide shared support, backup and coverage alongside other Administration Officers, ensuring consistent, high quality administrative and customer service support across the organisation.
This role is offered on a permanent part-time basis working 11.5 hours per week (set Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm and 4 hours on another day to be determined).
About you
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong customer service skills, professional judgement and a high level of confidentiality, with a confident and approachable manner when engaging with a diverse range of people. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise competing demands while remaining calm and solutions focused. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams) and the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within an administrative team are essential. Previous experience in a reception or administrative role, along with exposure to databases such as Salesforce, will be highly regarded.
You must have, or be willing to obtain both a satisfactory National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check and hold a valid driver’s licence.
