Accounts Officer Common Equity Housing Limited location Melbourne. Common Equity Housing Ltd (CEHL) is seeking a self-motivated, proactive individual to join our close knit Finance Team. We are looking for a tertiary qualified individual who is able to work autonomously across all financial aspects of the business from accounting and bookkeeping to completing rent assessments and providing financial advice to our tenants. This is a demanding and dynamic role and will require someone with the ability to handle pressure and competing demands and deadlines, while maintaining an approachable and team orientated presence in the office. Key selection criteria qualifications or equivalent industry knowledge and experience accounting degree preferred, knowledge of relevant legislation and standards including organisation law, australian accountancy standards and audit processes, experience in working with accounting software (myob, xero or propertyme) desired, strong microsoft office skills, sound understanding of the requirements of the gst legislation (australian taxation office), australian charities and not for profit commission (acnc) and the privacy act, good knowledge of information technology systems and data management systems and practices, general understanding of the community housing sector. Experience relevant experience in accounting and financial management. Skills good written and oral communication skills, including the preparation of reports, briefing papers and correspondence, strong information technology skills, including a working knowledge of microsoft office applications, sound teamwork and interpersonal skills, high degree of accuracy, sound problem solving skills.
