Uniting is seeking a dedicated Exercise Physiologist Coordinator to lead our Seniors Gym and community-based programs.
About the Role
As the Exercise Physiologist Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality exercise physiology services across our gym and community settings. You’ll lead and mentor Exercise Physiology students, collaborate with healthcare professionals, and design tailored exercise programs that support clients with chronic conditions, injuries, or those recovering from surgery.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and mentor Exercise Physiology students in delivering health and fitness programs across gym and community settings.
Conduct health screenings and functional assessments, and develop tailored exercise prescriptions for clients with chronic or complex conditions.
Provide expert guidance to Exercise Scientists and Personal Trainers and deliver health education.
Design and facilitate individual and group exercise programs, including Seniors Gym classes, to support recovery and wellbeing.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals and external providers to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care plans.
Manage care complaints, monitor program cost-efficiency, and support client engagement in meaningful activities.
Oversee financial transactions, reporting, and contribute to staff, student, and volunteer training and development.
About You
You’re a compassionate and driven professional who thrives in a collaborative environment. You bring:
A tertiary qualification in Exercise Science (specialising in Exercise Physiology).
Accreditation with Exercise and Sport Science Australia (ESSA).
Valid First Aid and CPR certification
A current Australian Driver’s Licence and vehicle.
Strong communication, organisational, and customer service skills.
Experience in an aged care environment
A team player who is confident flying solo
Experience with Gym supervision and gym equipment
Ability to organise and conduct health screening and functional assessments
Computer Skills – Microsoft Office and Outlook
