The Opportunity

Cochlear is looking for a Material Handler to ensure the efficient and safe movement of materials within the manufacturing environment, supporting manufacturing by delivering the right materials at the right time. You will work closely with the wider manufacturing team to facilitate uninterrupted processes and maintaining high standards of safety and quality

This is a permanent full-time role based in Cochlear’s Global Headquarters in Macquarie University or Lane Cove site.

You will be initially allocated on one of our current shift patterns. The shift times are:

Day shift – 5.50am – 2pm
Afternoon shift – 2:25pm – 10:30pm
Your responsibilities will include…

Replenish stock and inventory in designated manufacturing areas.
Ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials to support manufacturing processes.
Track and manage inventory levels to ensure materials are available when needed.
Safely handle and store various materials, including hazardous and non-hazardous materials
Unpack, and deliver items to relevant areas
Ensure the availability of necessary tools and equipment on the manufacturing line.
Assisting with start-up and shut down activities
Supporting line preparation activities such as, washing and preparing jigs and tools, micro activities
Comply with Cochlear’s work instructions, policies, procedures, and quality management system requirements. Following protocols for transfer hatch, gowning, and ESD to maintain safety and compliance.
Perform work safely, adhering to all procedures and reporting workplace hazards, incidents, and/or injuries.
Safely transport materials within the facility using appropriate equipment such as trolleys or pallet jacks
About You:

Required Skills:

Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and materials flow.
Good english proficiency. Ability to read, understand, follow, and comply with Cochlear policies and procedures.
Ability to work safely and comply with safety procedures.
Ability to work in both Cochlear’s manufacturing sites: Macquarie University and Lane Cove
Ability to work in both shifts (day shift and afternoon shift)
