An exciting career awaits you at ASC, Australia's submarine company - the sustainer of Australia's conventionally armed, nuclear-powered submarines in the AUKUS partnership. To deliver on this new and exciting work, we are seeking skilled trades individuals to undertake long-term, world-leading training in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, U.S.

Placements are due to commence in March 2026 and will be between 18 - 24 months in duration.

Responsibilities

In the role of Project Manager, your responsibilities are:

Manage and oversee all aspects of the project, including the planning, engineering, production, testing etc.

Work with other PS and technical and supports to integrate the project requirements to ensure that manpower, material and other resources will be available when needed

Determines the scope of the work package, evaluates the ability of the shipyard to support the work package, and recommends any modification of the work package if necessary.

Monitors the projects budget and overtime expenditures and key aspects of the projects work progress.

Conducts and attends meetings to discuss projects progress and other project issues. Identifies problems, works with other supervisors and technical supports to develop solutions or action items to find resolutions.

Direction and management of a wide variety and volume of trades work, requiring the support of a wide variety of administrative, technical and profession personnel.

Eligibility Criteria

The successful applicant must possess:

Australian Citizenship

An ability to obtain and maintain a NV1 defence clearance

Proven ability to plan/manage/execute complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and tight deadlines.

Experience leading multi-discipline teams in high-stakes environments.

Cost estimation/scheduling/resource allocation.

A degree in engineering, nuclear science, or a related technical field.

Certification/s in Project Management.

Completion of NAVSEA or Navy nuclear training programs.

Ability to coordinate across departments(engineering/production/safety).

Strong written/verbal communication.

Experience working with senior leadership and external agencies.

Additional Details

During deployment, you will receive on the job training combined with instructor led classroom training. This training program and work is carried out in accordance with company and US Navy processes and procedures.

At the completion of your deployment, you will return to Western Australia (WA) to carry out the planning, management, and in-water maintenance activities on the United States Navy Virginia Class Submarines. Repatriation to WA is non-negotiable, so please consider this when applying.

Please note: This is a Civilian role and recruitment processes will differ from those undertaken in Active Service Defence recruitment.
